What we collect
VidSum does not use accounts. When you submit a YouTube link, we process the video ID to build and store its page. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may keep standard technical logs, such as your IP address, browser type, and request time, for security and reliability purposes.
Cookies and the YouTube player
Pages show a thumbnail first. The YouTube player loads only after you press play, and it uses the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain. Once the player loads, YouTube may set cookies or collect data under Google's own privacy policy.
Local storage
We save your light or dark theme preference in your browser. This setting never leaves your device.
Third-party services
- YouTube (video, title, and thumbnail)
- Cloudflare (hosting and content delivery)
- AI providers that help write page text, which receive only the public video title and ID
