How VidSum works
Going from a link to a finished page takes only a few seconds. Here is exactly what happens along the way.
Step 1: Paste a link
VidSum accepts standard watch links, youtu.be short links, YouTube Shorts, embed links, and live stream URLs. You can also paste the 11-character video ID.
Step 2: VidSum writes the page
VidSum looks up the public title, thumbnail, and channel through YouTube's oEmbed service, then generates an overview article with AI. The first time a video is processed takes a little longer. After that, the page is saved and loads instantly.
Step 3: Read and share
You arrive at a page with the video player, the summary, and share buttons. Copy the link and send it anywhere.
What VidSum does not do
- It does not download, copy, or re-host the video.
- It does not transcribe audio.
- It does not require an account.
